The Camoran Usurper Theory


TES IV takes place at the end of the Thrid Era of Tamriel.

1000s years ago, in the First Era, before the Nine Divines religion was established, before even the Amulet of King existed, an Elven empire ruled Tamriel, and the humans were slaves.

This first line of Kings is known as the Camoran dynasty. It is the first entry in Tamriel history.

At the begining of the Second Era, a mysterious figure known as the Camoran Usurper led an army of Daedra and undead in conquest of Tamriel. They managed to conquer Valenwood, Hammerfell and High Rock before being defeated by a hero leading an army of animals.

The developers confirmed that the enemy is from an ancient line of Kings and have his own design for Tamriel.

His style seems similar to the Camoran Usurper, and he could be a descendant of that line. Some even suspect the descendant of that line and Jaguar Tharn (the villain from TES I: Arena) could be one and the same.

Another royal family with far reaching interest is the royal line of Hammerfell, subjugated in the Second Era. We noted that the Mythic Dawn costume had an Arabic touch to them, especially the helm/hood.

Andorak, Uriel IV's son, was disinherited by vote of Council, and a cousin more closely related to the original Septim line was proclaimed Cephorus II in 3E268. For the first nine years of Cephorus II's reign, those loyal to Andorak battled the Imperial forces. In an act that the Sage Eraintine called “Tiber Septim's heart beating no more,” the Council granted Andorak the High Rock kingdom of Shornhelm to end the war, and Andorak's descendants still rule there.

By and large, Cephorus II had foes that demanded more of his attention than Andorak. “From out of a cimmerian nightmare,” in the words of Eraintine, a man who called himself the Camoran Usurper led an army of Daedra and undead warriors on a rampage through Valenwood, conquering kingdom after kingdom. Few could resist his onslaughts, and as month turned to bloody month in the year 3E249, even fewer tried. Cephorus II sent more and more mercenaries into Hammerfell to stop the Usurper's northward march, but they were bribed or slaughtered and raised as undead.

And why was he walking northward toward High Rock? Mysterious isn't it? Let's not forget the Direnni power there! (Another old and powerfull elven bloodline)
