Technical Demos
Here is a collected handful of good demos from various places and to make the search easier on others, put all together here with direct links.
Downloads
- Facegen 3.1
- This allows you to generate and modify faces.
- SpeedTreeRT
- This is Oblivion's forest generating technology. It displays several benchmarks such as frames per second and load times. This requires a video card with full DirectX9 support. GeForceFX, Radeon 9x series or higher.
- HDR Comparison
- This shows the benefits of High Dynamic Range lighting which simulates the way your irises dilate and contract. Thanks SwordWolf.
Shockwave Havok Demos
- Bowl Demo
- This gives you an idea of how objects react in containers.
- Morningstar Demo
- Remember that chain in the E3 20 minute video?
- Warehouse Demo
- Move crates around with a free hagning lamp.
- Skeleton Demo
- This is an idea of how a corpse can respond to manipulation.
- Blocks Demo
- Add, remove, or manipulate blocks. Try stacking them up.
- 3D Game Demo
- Gives a rudimentary example of using physics in a game.
I hope that gives some more of you an idea of what we can expect, and a bit of a glimpse as to how your computer will handle things like forests.
